Beyond championing the first Indonesia National Rover Team, Antarexxa is actively collaborating with the European Rover Challenge (ERC) Committee to assess the feasibility of launching the Indonesia Rover Challenge (IRC) in the near future. This initiative aims to establish a world-class competitive platform that fosters innovation in space robotics and planetary exploration technologies while nurturing Indonesia’s growing space ecosystem.
Leveraging Indonesia’s unique and extreme volcanic landscapes, which closely resemble the regolith-covered terrains of the Moon and Mars, the Indonesia Rover Challenge aspires to become a premier proving ground for local and international teams. Participants will have the opportunity to design, build, and operate robotic systems in real-world analog environments, simulating future extraterrestrial missions.
Through this collaboration with ERC, Antarexxa envisions not only expanding Indonesia’s footprint in global space technology competitions but also creating a dynamic learning and networking hub for students, engineers, and researchers passionate about planetary exploration. This initiative will help bridge Indonesia’s talents with global experts, fostering advancements in autonomous navigation, AI-driven robotics, and mission planning—key competencies for the future of interplanetary exploration.
